Pet Oral Spray Pump Testing Before Production

For a pet oral spray, the pump is part of the product. A stable liquid with the wrong actuator can still fail at use.

Output per stroke must be repeatable

The pump supplier may provide a nominal output, but the assembled product still needs verification. Formula viscosity, dip-tube length and actuator design can change the delivered amount. A usable specification should state an acceptable output range.

Spray pattern affects application

A fine mist, narrow spray and direct stream do not behave the same way. The project team should select the pattern based on the intended application and pack size, then check it with filled units rather than an empty packaging sample.

Priming and clogging need real-cycle checks

Count how many strokes are needed for the first consistent spray. Leave filled samples under expected storage conditions, then test restart performance. Flavor components, suspended matter and dried residue can affect the actuator.

Leakage is a system issue

Closure torque, bottle neck, gasket, dip tube and formula all matter. Inversion, transport and temperature checks help identify weak combinations before mass packing. Changing only the pump after approval can reopen the compatibility review.
